Vanavond zijn alle benodigdheden voor de publicatie in The First Berliner Art Book 2025 opgestuurd.
Daarbij hoort een foto van mijzelf, een korte biografie, een stukje over de ethiek en de esthetiek met betrekking tot hedendaagse kunst en een zestal foto’s.
Er zal nu worden gekeken of alle benodigdheden in orde zijn en wanneer dat het geval is, is de publicatie een feit.
The First Berliner Art Book is een publicatie in eigen beheer van Art Management Berlin (AMB) die gevestigd is in de Duitse hoofdstad.
Het boek wordt in een relatief kleine oplage (1.500 exemplaren) gedrukt en wordt ter promotie gebruikt voor de kunstenaars die in het Art Book zijn opgenomen.
Een aantal jaar zijn foto’s van Studio Tjeerd gepubliceerd in The First Berliner Art Book, waarvan de laatste in 2022 was.
In 2023 en 2024 is er geen publicatie geweest simpelweg omdat er onvoldoende geschikte foto’s waren om in dit art book te laten publiceren.
Vijf jaar achtereen zijn foto’s gepubliceerd in dit kunstboek:

In een eerder blogbericht is al uitgebreid beschreven wat de publicatie in dit kunstboek precies inhoudt.
Ter beoordeling zijn nu in totaal zes foto’s ingestuurd voor publicatie:

Naast een korte bio, werd er dit keer ook gevraagd om een stukje over de ethiek en esthetiek van de moderne kunst.
Daarvoor is onderstaand ingestuurd:

In my opinion art has a very important role in the history and development of mankind, like the old masters nowadays are seen; the artists of today are the old masters of the future.
In contemporary art, the intertwining of ethics and aesthetics holds profound significance, particularly for a portrait photographer.
Ethically, the photographer bears the responsibility of representing their subjects with authenticity and respect, mindful of the power dynamics inherent in capturing another’s image.
This involves obtaining consent, honoring cultural sensitivities, and portraying subjects in a manner that upholds their dignity.
Aesthetically, the photographer’s vision shapes how the subject is perceived, with choices in lighting, composition, and context influencing the narrative conveyed.
The fusion of ethics and aesthetics ensures that the portrait transcends mere visual appeal, resonating with depth, integrity, and a genuine connection to the subject’s humanity.

Alle bovenstaande onderdelen zijn ingestuurd en ook de betaling is gedaan.
In de e-mail die ik naar de curator heb gestuurd, heb ik nog wel een paar vragen gesteld over de mogelijkheid om foto’s te verkopen via AMB Art Shop Gallery platform.
“Can you please tell me more about what you wrote in a previous email:
“inclusion for free of your presentation text about your artworks (ca. 200 words) along with 10 artworks in our new AMB exclusive Website with the possibility to sell your original artworks on AMB Art Shop Gallery platform.
Your images should be at least 300 dpi ( Title, Measures, Medium, Year of each work of art), along with your personal photography and your CV text (ca. 200 words).
If you would like to sell more that 10 artworks there’s a small fee to be honored for any additional work of art for the processing your data.
Please to send us also your price list.
Art Management Berlin reserves the rights to deduct 40 % commitions from every sell on the Art Management Berlin’s exclusive Shop Gallery platform.
What do I have to do for it and can you please help me with pricing my work for the Berlin artmarket?”
Nu is het afwachten of echt aan alle eisen is voldaan en of alle foto’s daadwerkelijk worden goedgekeurd voor de publicatie.
Daarnaast hoop ik natuurlijk een antwoord te krijgen op mijn vragen.
