Wat gebeurt er allemaal? Vandaag trof ik alwéér een e-mail met een open uitnodiging voor een foto-expositie, dit keer bij de Lacey Contemporary Gallery in Londen.

Dear Tjeerd,

I’m getting in touch with you from Lacey Contemporary Gallery in London, UK where we are about to close our applications for our Summer Arts Prize. I saw your work in a book delivered to the gallery called “Inspiration: International Art Book”, and wanted to get in touch with you to make you aware of the prize, and to encourage you to consider submitting something!

The Summer Arts Prize is an opportunity for artists from all over the world (and working in any medium of art) to submit work that will be judged firstly for a shortlisted round in which 50 finalists will be exhibited in our gallery located in Holland Park, London, and then to be judged for the final prizes:

First Place: £1000 cash award

Runner Up Awards:
– Great Art UK – donating a £500 art supplies voucher
– Be Smart About – donating a mentoring package worth over £500
– EMA Arts Club – giving away a 3-month exhibition space in the EMA Canary Wharf offices.

This is the second year the gallery has run the competition, and we look forward to similarly impressive calibre of works being submitted for 2016.

The applications are open now but only until midnight the 10th July 2016 (GMT) after which 50 finalists will be selected to exhibit with us for 3-weeks in August and to be judged by our jury of art professionals for the final prizes.

Eerst maar eens navragen welk inschrijfgeld gevraagd wordt. Daarnaast is het de vraag of het allemaal niet heel kort dag is.
In ieder geval is duidelijk dat het International Art Book zijn vruchten al afwerpt.
