Vandaag kreeg ik een reactie op mijn e-mail waarin ik had aangegeven dat ik afzag van een fysieke solo-expositie in Petritoli, Italië.

In mijn e-mail aan Mara Campaner, de curator en galeriehoudster van Associazione Culturale “Sei l’Arte, had ik geschreven:

I’m so sorry to understand that you haven’t received my email from some two weeks ago. In that particular email I wrote you that I had done the maths for the exhibition, but that the expenses for printing and framing, accompanied with the shipping and the costs for the exhibition itself were too much for me at this moment. I’ve to put money on the bank for this kind of occasions.
I agree with you that this is a big opportunity for both of us and it now feels to me that I let you down and disappoint you.

I do hope that you’ll be able to continue with the preparations of the exhibition.

In het antwoord van Mara, komt ze met een laatste voorstel zodat ik alsnog deel kan nemen aan de expositie:

I’m was afraid to get this notice from you.
But… if you want, we will give another proposal for you, because this is the 3rd time we work together: a special price for one physical artwork + one page in the digital catalogue.
This discount is only for you.: this is because we love your images.

Dit is zeker het overwegen waard: de kosten zijn sowieso lager dan wanneer het om een solo-expositie zou gaan én ik zou in ieder geval alvast één foto hebben die afgedrukt en ingelijst is voor een eventuele solo-expositie in de toekomst.
