Via de e-mail ontving ik het bericht dat de inzending die was gedaan voor een online wedstrijd voor hedendaagse kunst, uitgeschreven door ArtaVita, bij de finalisten behoorde. Daarvoor ontving ik een Certificate of Excellence.
Met dit certificaat komt de teller van certificaten die ik via ArtaVita heb mogen ontvangen op acht te staan.
In een eerder blog was al melding gemaakt van deze wedstrijd en ook welke foto’s daarvoor waren ingestuurd.
De foto Rona is niet de winnende gebleken maar behoorde wel tot de shortlist van 147 kunstenaars en daarmee dus tot finalisten van deze wedstrijd, zoals die ook op de website van ArtaVita staat.
Uit de e-mail zelf blijkt dat er in totaal 1.287 kunstenaars hebben meegedaan:
Dear Tjeerd,
I am pleased to inform you that you were one of the finalists in the latest Artavita contest. The contest had a total of 3962 artworks submitted by 1287 artists, and judging the entries, many of which were very impressive works, was not easy!

I also note that it is possible for you to participate in our space at Spectrum Miami with a 20% discount on the participation fee. If you are not familiar with this art fair, it is one of the largest and most important of the shows taking place during Art Basel Week in Miami. It usually gets over 40,000 visitors and this year’s edition will take place from 4 – 8 December.
If you are interested, I can send you an application. The works you entered in the contest are pre-approved. Please send images of other works you might like to exhibit for approval. The participation fee depends on the amount of space – wall width for works hung on the wall, and floor space for sculptures and other works displayed on the floor. It is also possible to appear only in the catalog or the digital display.
Please note that the deadline for submissions for this exhibition is September 15.

De tekst op het certificaat luidt:
“Certificate of Excellence awarded to Tjeerd Doosje for artwork submitted in the 33rd Artavita Online Art Contest competing for exhibition at Spectrum Miami Art Fair”.
In de e-mail staat verder dat ik, als één van de finalisten, tegen een gereduceerde prijs (20% korting) kan deelnemen aan Spectrum Miami Art Fair (van 4 tot 8 december 2019 met rond de 40.000 bezoekers) en dat de ingezonden foto hiervoor al is goedgekeurd. Daarvoor kan ik om een inschrijfformulier vragen.
