Catalogus digitale expositie “Breakout” ontvangen

Via de e-mail kreeg ik de catalogus en review van de internationale expositie “Breakout” die afgelopen maand in de M.A.D.S. Milano Gallery te zien is geweest. De recensie is geschreven door art curator Cecilia Terenzoni.

De catalogus bevat de foto’s van de ingezonden kunstwerken van alle kunstenaars die aan de expositie hebben meegedaan. Daarnaast schrijft één van de art curators van de M.A.D.S. Gallery Milano een review van het ingezonden werk.

Ik beperk me tot de pagina’s in de catalogus waarop de foto’s van Studio Tjeerd zijn opgenomen.

Another series from the Dutch photographer Tjeerd Doosje, whose peculiarity and ‘quality brand’ is the choice of his subjects: baby models.
Nontheless, the ‘baby’ aspect subsists only in the models’ age, because their poses and fearless gazes are completely at the level of those of their older professional agency collegues.

The self-taught photographer places often his muses in outdoor spaces that function as colourful and solid frames for those immaculate faces and, more in general, for those lives still at the dawn.

The interesting element of the shots is precisely the contrast between those apparent fragile lives and the self-confidence that emerge from the models’ look, that is almost defying the viewer and pretending to be already one of an experienced woman.

An anachronistic self-assurance that is able to communicate both intensity and a feeling of an unreadable universe of emotions, which still need to be developed and suffered.
The spontaneity of the babies seem completely cut down, producing facial expressions and ‘scenic presences’ almost confrontational with the environments in which are posing: steps, streets, parks.
