Het is al eventjes geleden dat ik een antwoord had ontvangen van Artifact Gallery (New York) over een mogelijke expositie in de galerie.
Door alle drukte, maar ook omdat ik nog over een aantal dingen goed wilde nadenken, was het er nog niet van gekomen om de contactpersoon te antwoorden.
Dat is vandaag gebeurd, tezamen met een paar aanvullende vragen.
De Artifact Gallery benaderde mij vlak voor Kerst 2021 en is gelegen in Lower East Side, de meest opwindende kunstbestemming van Manhattan met meer dan 200 galerieën en kunstinstellingen, waaronder het New Museum, het Tenement Museum en het International Center of Photography.
De galerie biedt mij de mogelijkheid om te exposeren in hun eigen expositieruimte, maar ook, fysiek of digitaal, bij kunstbeurzen in New York, L.A., Miami, Monaco en museum expositie in Zuid Korea.
Daarnaast biedt de galerie (weliswaar tegen betaling) de mogelijkheid om onder de aandacht te komen bij MoMA (Museum of Modern Arts), Brooklyn Museum, New Museum, The Andy Warhol Museum, International Center of Photography, Jewish Museum, Japan Society en luxe merken als Mercedes, Saks 5th Avenue en St. Regis Hotel.
Ook tegen betaling kan een intensieve multi-media reclame campagne op touw gezet worden in de NY Times, Wall Street Journal, Newsday, Time Out New York, New York magazine, Village Voice, New York Observer, Daily News, New York Post, Huffington Post, Paper Magazine, WNBC, WABC, WCBS, Bloomberg, Artnet, Artforum, ARTNews, The Art Newspaper, Artinfo, Modern Painters, Art in America, ARTNewsletter, Manhattan Arts International, Art Journal, ArtNews en Brooklyn Rail.
Multinationals als Microsoft, American Express, PBS en NASA zijn vaste klant bij de galerie.
Er is inmiddels al het nodige e-mail contact geweest met de contactpersoon van de Artifact Gallery en naar aanleiding van de laatste e-mail die ik ontving heb ik nog een paar vragen die ik graag beantwoord wil hebben voordat ik met deze galerie in zee ga.
De e-mail die ik vandaag gestuurd heb:
“I apologize for my late reply to your email, but I’ve been awfully busy with all kind of things of which being a teacher on a highschool is one of them.
Beside that, I needed some time to think things over and discuss this great opportunity with my family, friends and (parents of) models; I hope you understand that.
I now have some time to come back to your answers of the questions I asked.
Although you answered most of my questions, there are still some questions I would like to get answered to get everything totally clear to me.
I hereby already can tell you that I’m willing to participate in a solo-exhibition at your gallery. In fact: I’m thrilled about it!
One of the questions I asked was what could be the selling price of a photo. This is important to me and my (parents of) models, because I want to share the profits with my models, so that it becomes a win-win situation.
Do you or does the gallery help me in pricetagging the photos?
I’m not completey sure if I’m interpreting your answer correctly about the PR. Although I understand that the more you can afford, the more succesful the exhibition will be.
Is it necessary to opt for one of the PR options to get a solo-exhibition or do you offer the solo-exhibition without any of the PR options?
In one of your emails you wrote that there’s an opportunity to get sponsored for the exhibition and the PR.
How does this work?
The last questions is about the timespan. In your second email you mentioned that you’re scheduling for 2024, while in your last email you mention 2022 as the year you are scheduling. I guess the last one is a typo and should be 2024?
I am sorry in advance if I ask you so many questions, but I just want to make things clear and well arranged.
