Eind vorige maand ontving ik van Contemporary Art Station een open uitnodiging om een foto te nomineren voor de Contemporary Expressions Award.
De deadline voor de nominatie nadert met rasse schreden en ik had nog een paar kleine vragen voor de organisatie.
Die zijn nu beantwoord.
Met Contemporary Art Station is al eens eerder samengewerkt en die prettige samenwerking en communicatie heeft geleid tot de publicatie Art Collector’s Choice Book – Volume II – Middle East, maar ook tot de expositie van een foto tijdens Arco Madrid 2023.
Deze expositie was in eerste instantie gepland voor februari dit jaar, maar de coronabeperkingen gooide roet in het eten.
Na een beslissing van Arco Madrid en de Madrid Art Week wordt de foto nu in februari 2023 tentoongesteld in het Nuevos Ministerios Station (een metrostation) in Madrid.
Het metrostation verwelkomt zo’n 2,6 miljoen reizigers per dag.
Deze keer kan ik een foto insturen als nominatie voor de Contemporary Art Expressions Award.

Contemporary Expressions Award

Expressing through art is a profoundly affecting way to liberate and communicate feelings, concepts, reflections, insights, ideas and perceptions. The Award honours and distinguish the most expressive, emotional, innovative, and communicative artist around the world.
Winning the Contemporary Expressions Award establishes a high standard of excellence and provides a significant lot of recognition to the artist.
Accepted Media: painting, photography, video-art, sculpture, and installation, performing art, architecture, product design, fashion design, computer graphics, illustration, and drawing.
Awarded Artist will receive the following:
- Free Contemporary Art Station Exhibition (Shibuya Station, Tokyo).
- Free Digital Exhibition at international Art Fair.
- Free Double-Page Feature in the upcoming Art Collector’s Book Volume 4 published by the Contemporary Art Station.
- A Certificate of Merit.
- Newsletter to all our database with art collectors honouring the awarded artist.

De vragen die bij mij opborrelden waren:
In het geval dat de ingezonden foto ook de winnende blijkt te zijn, is er een kosteloze publicatie over twee pagina’s in Art Collector’s Book volume 4, maar dat suggereert dat je in ieder geval twee foto’s moet insturen.
Of is het dan de bedoeling dat je een andere foto achteraf opstuurt voor de publicatie zonder extra kosten?
Het antwoord was kort en krachtig:
De winnaar zal een dubbele pagina in het Art Book krijgen.
Wij zullen hem/haar een formulier toesturen om in te vullen welke twee foto’s (van kunstwerken) er gepubliceerd moeten worden alsook vragen we dan om extra informatie.
Duidelijke taal.
De deadline voor het insturen van de nominatie is 1 mei, maar ik wil dit toch wel uiterlijk 30 april in orde brengen.
Op vrijdag 6 mei wordt dan de winnaar bekend gemaakt.
