Eind vorige maand ontving ik in de e-mail een open uitnodiging om mee te doen voor de titel CFA Artist of the Year Award. Toentertijd leek de deadline voor inzenden nog heel ver weg, maar inmiddels is die dag bereikt en dus heb ik vandaag, precies op de deadline, hiervoor een foto ingezonden.
Circle Foundation for the Arts (CFA) is een oude bekende van Studio Tjeerd.
Sterker nog: Studio Tjeerd was één van de eerste kunstenaars die gepubliceerd is in het opstartende blad, enkele jaren geleden, om precies te zijn in de herfst van 2017.
Het is leuk om te zien dat deze editie nog steeds op de website staat van het tijdschrift en ook mijn naam daar nog is terug te vinden.
Vorige maand nog is er met een vijftal foto’s meegedaan aan een wedstrijd voor plaatsing in het kunsttijdschrift Circle Quarterly Magazine.
Dat is uiteindelijk niet gelukt, maar werd wel beloond met een prachtig certificaat.
De open uitnodiging voor de CFA Artist of the Year Award ontving ik op 2e Kerstdag waarin te lezen stond wat deze wedstrijd precies inhoudt:
Submit your art and compete for the 5th international CFA Artist of the Year Award, including a list of important benefits, titles, cash grants, promotion and publication.
The CFA Artist of the Year 2024 Award
We invite visual artists working in all categories (except video/film art) to submit artwork in the CFA Artist of the Year Contest.
The submitted artworks will be judged according to aesthetic, technical and creative aspects.
Only images submitted in this contest will be considered for the selection of the winning artists.

Nu dus een foto voor deze wedstrijd ingezonden en daarbij is mijn keuze gevallen op een foto van Antonia die inmiddels al twee-en-half-jaar geleden gemaakt is: Antonia (0308-bw).
We gaan zien of de curatoren van het tijdschrift deze foto van Antonia prijswinnend vinden.
De uitslag, zo valt te lezen in de bevestigingsmail die ik ontving, mag ik tussen 26 januari en 8 februari verwachten.
