Via de e-mail ontving ik een reminder van de persoonlijke uitnodiging van Circle Foundation for the Arts, een organisatie die hedendaagse kunst, over een mogelijke expositie in Amsterdam die gehouden wordt tijdens de Europa Art Fair 2024 in de Westergas.
Met het Franse Circle Foundation for the Arts (CFA) heb ik vaker samengewerkt, waarbij de laatste begin mei was tijdens World Art Dubai 2024 met een expositie van twee foto’s van Merlin.
Tien dagen geleden ontving ik via de e-mail al onderstaande persoonlijke uitnodiging waarin ook nog gerefereerd aan de expositie in Dubai.
“Hello Tjeerd,
We are sending a message today, to invite you to showcase your artwork digitally, in our video display in Amsterdam, this September.
I am pasting all project details below.
Perhaps you can sent in photos of your model Merlin, because they were very well received in Dubai.
If you are not interested, please let me know, so I don’t send reminders.
Video Display in Amsterdam
By participating in this project, you can exhibit up to 5 artworks in a video presentation that will be displayed in a continuous loop, for the entire duration of the art fair.
The show is EuropArtFair September 6-8, 2024, at the gorgeous and historical venue of Gashouder Westergas in a car-free part of town.
Now in its 5th year, the show is expected to attract several thousand visitors, targeting both hobbyists and professional art collectors.
One significant advantage of this fair is its intimate size, featuring only 103 exhibitors, ensuring a focused and engaging experience for both artists and attendees.
This is an opportunity to show your art to a specialized audience but also make an important addition to your resume without the hassle and costs of shipping your art.
If you join this project, your art will be presented digitally on a large, 66 inch HD monitor placed on a table at one of the most prominent spots of the show, close to the entrance.
Each video slide will include your artist name, the country you represent, your website (in scannable QR code mode), and one artwork.
Each slide appears about 8 times per hour.
You will also be listed in a print brochure that we will be handing out at the show.

Zoals in de e-mail te lezen valt, vindt het hele gebeuren plaats in Westergas wat vroeger de Wester Gasfabriek heette.
De organisatie is in handen van EuropArtFair en wordt nu voor de 5e keer gehouden.
In de e-mail staat geen deadline vermeld waarop foto’s ingezonden moeten zijn.
Daar schreef ik ook al over in mijn vorige blogbericht.
Ondanks alle drukte aan het einde van het schooljaar heb ik naar de contactpersoon gemaild met de vraag wanneer de deadline precies is.
Daarop kreeg ik vrij snel antwoord terug:
“There is no set deadline for this particular project but I advise to submit by end of the week as there may not be space later than that.”
Waarop ik heb terug gemaild dat: “I’ll discuss this with the (parent of) my model(s) and will submit it by the end of the week.”
Aangezien Merlin heel specifiek genoemd wordt in de persoonlijke uitnodiging, zal ik eerst contact proberen te leggen met de moeder van Merlin met de vraag of zij hier aan mee wil werken.
