Naar aanleiding van deelname aan een wedstrijd van The Circle Foundation for the Arts kreeg ik vandaag de details toegestuurd over eventuele publicatie in het aankomende Spotlight Magazine van de organisatie.
De uitslag van de wedstrijd kwam vorige week binnen en daaruit bleek dat de ingezonden foto’s van Antonia niet bij de winnaars voor een internationale groepsexpositie in de Agora Gallery in New York behoorden.
In diezelfde e-mail schreef de contactpersoon van het tijdschrift:
“I am very pleased to let you know that your work really stood out to us and you have been selected for an Honorable Mention Award.
We have a call for Spotlight Magazine this month and I would be delighted to include your piece “ANTONIA (0501)” in this coming issue. We will send details next week and you can think about it.”
Vandaag in de e-mail de details die waren beloofd.

Circle Foundation for the Arts (CFA) is een van origine Franse organisatie die zich toelegt op het ontdekken en introduceren van huidige trends op alle gebieden van de beeldende kunst, daarbij kunstenaars een podium aanbiedend met publicatie in hun eigen tijdschrift of door middel van exposities over de hele wereld.
Een expositie via deze organisatie staat begin september op de rol tijdens EuropArtFair, die gehouden wordt in de Amsterdamse Westergas.
Over het Spotlight Magazine is op de website nog het volgende te vinden:

Er zijn al eerder foto’s in het Spotlight Magazine verschenen in december 2017 en in hun Circle Quarterly Magazine in september 2017.
Nu dus een nieuwe mogelijkheid om een foto gepubliceerd te krijgen in het Spotlight Magazine waarvoor je, zo blijkt nu, persoonlijk wordt uitgenodigd.
De editors willen graag een keuze hebben welke foto zij in het tijdschrift zullen gaan plaatsen en is niet automatisch de eerder genoemde foto Antonia (0501).
In het vervolg van de e-mail staat namelijk:
“If you have read all the details and you decided that this is the right project for you, please prepare 6 high-quality images as well as your short artist statement and use the form below to submit your publication material.
We publish 1 image per page but we ask you to submit a few more works so that we have enough material to work with on your presentation.
After you have successfully submitted the form you will receive a confirmation email. We will be in direct contact with you during production to ensure that we have the material we need for your presentation in Spotlight Magazine.”
Ik zal de e-mail die ik ontving ook doorsturen aan Antonia met de vraag of zij hier aan wil meewerken en ook welke zes foto’s dan haar voorkeur hebben om in te sturen.
De deadline daarvoor is over twee weken op 30 augustus.
