Vanavond kwam de uitslag binnen van een wedstrijd georganiseerd door de fotogalerie Decode in Tucson, Arizona, Verenigde Staten, met als inzet: fysieke expositie van één van de foto’s.
De Decode Gallery kwam bij mij in beeld door middel van een wekelijkse nieuwsbrief die ik ontvang van de website Call for Entry (CaFÉ).
Daarin stond onder andere een oproep voor de aankomende expositie in het vierkante formaat.
Eerder schreef ik al een blogbericht over deze galerie.
Over de galerie is op de website te lezen:
“Decode Gallery is an up and coming photography gallery in the blossoming art scene of Tucson, Arizona.
The gallery is located in a historic neighborhood near the Museum of Contemporary Art Tucson.
Tucson is home to the Center for Creative Photography, which contains an extensive archive of work from photographers including Ansel Adams, Adward Weston, and more.
Decode is a submission based photography gallery.
We are dedicated to giving fine art photographers the important opportunity to show their work.”
Vorige week had ik voor de aankomende expositie “Square Photography” een tiental foto’s ingestuurd.
Helaas is geen van de foto’s langs de jury gekomen om te behoren tot de twaalf foto’s die aankomende maand worden tentoongesteld:
“Dear Tjeerd,
We would like to thank you for your submission into our SQUARE call for entry.
It was a joy to review all the entries that came in.
Unfortunately, we can’t include everyone who submits their work into the gallery.
The juror chose not to include your submission in this exhibition.
Please know that this was not an easy choice but was given a lot of attention.
We continue to be interested in and supportive of you and your photography and encourage you to submit to future shows.
There are many artists in the past who have not gotten into one exhibition and are accepted in the next.
Our next exhibition opportunity is our ‘Darkness’ Exhibit.

Natuurlijk is het jammer dat geen van de foto’s in de expositie is gekomen, maar de manier waarop de galerie dingen organiseert en communiceert, is wel een heel prettige, dus wellicht stuur ik te zijner tijd weer een aantal foto’s op wanneer er een wedstrijd wordt uitgeschreven waar mijn foto’s bij passen.
Ik blijf immers de open uitnodigingen ontvangen.
