Een paar weken geleden werd ik op Instagram benaderd door iemand die mij indirect wees op Kavyar: een grote website waar bijna 300 tijdschriften voor onder andere fashion and beauty bij zijn aangesloten.
Eén daarvan is The Style Researcher Magazine en daarvoor is vandaag een foto van Merlin ingestuurd.
Het magazine kwam bij mij in the picture doordat Kavyar in de nieuwsbrief zeven tijdschriften onder de aandacht bracht middels de onderwerpregel “7 magazines out of hundreds looking to publish your work.”, waaronder dus The Style Researcher Magazine.
In de zogenaamde Call for Work wordt het tijdschrift als volgt beschreven:

Al in een eerder stadium had ik met de moeder van Merlin uitvoerig overleg gehad over Kavyar en we hebben besloten samen op te trekken en te kijken naar de mogelijkheden, reden dus waarom voor dit tijdschrift een foto van Merlin is uitgekozen.
De foto die voor mogelijke publicatie is ingezonden, is foto Merlin (0224). Eén van de overwegingen die daarbij gemaakt is, is dat deze foto ook heel goed als cover gebruikt kan worden door de grote hoeveelheid “witruimte” rondom Merlins gezicht: daar kan door de opmaker van het tijdschrift genoeg ruimte gevonden worden om teksten bij te schrijven.
Het was de eerste keer dat ik een foto heb ingezonden via de website van Kavyar en hoewel er wel het nodige voor gedaan moet worden (preperatie van de foto), is de website redelijk logisch ingedeeld en ging het uploaden van de foto relatief makkelijk.
En nu maar afwachten in hoeverre het team van The Style Researcher Magazine de foto publicatiewaardig vindt.
Daarover komt uiterlijk 5 september uitsluitsel, zo viel in de e-mail te lezen nadat de inzending gedaan was.
