Uitnodiging expositie station Madrid ontvangen

Enige tijd geleden is een aantal foto’s gepubliceerd in het Art Collector’s Choice Book – Volume II – Middle East uitgegeven door Contemporary Art Station. Dezelfde organisatie benaderde me met een uitnodiging voor het exposeren van één foto in het station van Madrid tijdens Madrid Art Month die gehouden wordt in februari 2022.

De samenwerking en communicatie met Contemporary Art Station liep voor de publicatie Art Collector’s Choice Book – Volume II – Middle East erg prettig en in dat opzicht zou dit een logisch vervolg kunnen zijn.

Maar wat houdt de uitnodiging dan precies in?

After the big success of the five previous editions of the Contemporary Art Station exhibitions in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Barcelona, we are announcing the “Madrid Station Exhibition” in Spain, covering the period of ARCO 2022 art fair and the full Spanish Art Month (including Art Madrid, Salón de Arte Moderno, JUSTMAD, URVANITY ART, Room Art Fair, Hybrid Art Fair, Drawing Room, ARTIST Féria de Arte Contemporáneo and many more), when thousands of art collectors and art professionals visit the city.

Contemporary Art Station will convert the “Nuevos Ministerios Station” of Madrid into an art exhibition at Madrid’s underground station giving you the opportunity to have your art printed and displayed in a big-scale poster in Nuevos Ministerios Station (Madrid), with an estimated 2.6 million people a day over a 1 month period exhibition.

The posters will be displayed at Nuevos Ministerios Station from 1st February till 28th February 2022 making this an amazing marketing opportunity for you and your work.

MADRID ART MONTH (FEBRUARY 2022)

ARCOmadrid has remained among the most well-attended fairs in the world, attracting hundreds of galleries and some 90,000 people to the Spanish capital each year. ARCOmadrid boasts some of the highest attendance numbers among all international art fairs.

METRO MADRID

Last year -with 657.2 million users- became the fourth fiscal year with the highest demand. This figure reflects a 4.6 % increase in passengers with respect to 2019, that is, 31 million more, with growth in demand both on working days as well as on Saturdays and public holidays. Sol, Moncloa, and Nuevos Ministerios lead the stations with the highest demand, and Lines 6, 1 and 10 register the most traffic. The most significant increases in 2018 occurred in the Estadio Metropolitano, Feria de Madrid and Pinar del Rey Stations. Last 23 November (Black Friday) was the day of the year with the highest demand, 2.6 million journeys, and October was the month with the highest number of users, 66 million. The majority of Metro passengers (75.5 %) accessed the network in 2018 with the Transport Season Ticket.

Nuevos Ministerios Station

Nuevos Ministerios is a major multimodal rail station on the Madrid Metro and the Cercanías Madrid commuter rail network. It is located beneath the Nuevos Ministerios (New Ministries) government complex and the AZCA financial centre at the junction of the Paseo de la Castellana and Joaquín Costa and Raimundo Fernández Villaverde streets in Madrid, Spain. It services the districts of Tetuán, Chamberí, and Chamartín. The station serves Metro Line 6, Line 8, and Line 10, as well as Cercanías Lines C-1, C-2, C-3, C-4, C-7, C-8, and C-10.

Het ziet er allemaal veelbelovend uit: hoe tof zou het zijn om gedurende een hele maand een foto in het station van Madrid te hebben hangen?
Ik zal er nog even over na moeten denken, want ook aan deze expositie zijn de nodige kosten verbonden.
Daarnaast heb ik nog een aantal vragen die ik beantwoord wil hebben en natuurlijk niet in de laatste plaats: welke foto zou daar dan voor in aanmerking komen?
