Vandaag is via de e-mail de uitslag bekend gemaakt van de Siena Creative Photo Awards 2022 waarvoor een foto van Antonia was ingestuurd.
De Siena Awards is een internationale fotowedstrijd die sinds 2015 bestaat.
Eén van de wedstrijden die georganiseerd wordt is de Creative Photo Awards waarvoor ik medio april een foto van Antonia had ingestuurd.De Siena Awards, afgekort Sipa, is één van de fotowedstrijden met het hoogste aantal internationale deelnemers: bij de 2020 editie waren er bijna 48.000 inzendingen van zowel amateur- als professionele fotografen uit 156 landen, zo staat op de website te lezen.
Vandaag kwam van deze wedstrijd dus de uitslag binnen en helaas is de foto van Antonia niet in de prijzen gevallen, zo blijkt uit de e-mail die ik ontving:

A selection of the winning shots will be exhibited in Siena in autumn 2022
Siena. The False Illusion, a shot by Portuguese photographer André Boto, earned the title of overall winner of the 2022 edition of the Creative Photo Awards, the competition dedicated to artistic and creative photography at the Siena Awards, an international festival of visual arts. The image comes from Montijo, Portugal, and shines the spotlight on pollution, a problem that, although it affects everyone, is too often underestimated.
The photo, selected among tens of thousands of images submitted by photographers from 128 countries, will be on display along with the winning photos of the 17 categories of the 2022 edition, at the Siena Awards Festival to be held in the Tuscan city from October 1st to November 20th, 2022. The photographic event will also feature the winning shots of the SIPA (Siena International Photo Awards) and the Drone Photo Awards. Personal exhibitions at the festival will highlight the work of Danish Siddiqui (Indian photographer killed on July 16, 2021 while documenting the fighting between Afghan troops and the Taliban), as well as that of Ami Vitale, Dan Winters and Peter Mather.
