Foto’s geëxposeerd in het Louvre, Parijs?

Het begint er heel sterk op te lijken dat de foto’s die zijn ingestuurd voor The Fifth Annual Exposure Photography Award, op 13 juli aanstaande, digitaal worden geëxposeerd in het Louvre in Parijs. Dit tezamen met een flink aantal andere deelnemende fotografen.
Alleen het idee al!

Het is mij nog niet helemaal duidelijk waar de expositie precies zal zijn: men heeft het over “the reception” wat de receptie bij de kassa kan betekenen.

Uit de mail van de organisatie:

Thank you for sharing your work for consideration for the Exposure Award. Your entry makes you eligible for all awards including the grand prize Exposure Award, the people’s choice Vox Populi award and other special awards we will be announcing throughout the competition.

You have until Midnight, June 5 to earn votes on your Exposure profile.

Because you upgraded your submission, you will be automatically included in the digital display at the Louvre! Your vote count will also have no effect on the formal judging by our jury panel which is based solely on the merit of your photography.

You are also eligible for the $1,500 Vox Populi cash award for the photographer earning the most votes. Top vote getters will also get special features both online and in the Exposure Award book.

Hoe dan ook: om meer in de picture (what’s in a name) te komen, heb ik nog de nodige support nodig. Er wordt als  minimum eis gesteld dat 100 mensen moeten stemmen en óók dat 100 mensen een originele reactie schrijven om in aanmerking te komen voor de Vox Populi Prize. De teller staat nu respectievelijk op 29 en 3.

Elke stem is dus  waardevol en dat kan op The Fifth Annual Exposure Photography Award. Stemmen kan tot en met 5 juni aanstaande. Delen mag!

De omschrijving van de wedstrijd:

Whether a first timer, an aspiring photographer or a an accomplished professional, this is your invitation to be celebrated within the fifth annual exposure award, a global celebration of the image.

Het blijft spannend om aan een wedstrijd deel te nemen, maar wie niet waagt die niet wint, nietwaar?
In ieder geval kan er gestemd worden:
“Tjeerd Doosje needs 100 votes and 100 original comments in
order to be eligible for the Vox Populi Prize.”

Honor gekregen op YouPic

Hoewel er verder geen speciale betekenis aan hoeft te worden toegekend is het toch leuk om te melden dat Studio Tjeerd een Award of beter gezegd een Honor heeft gekregen op de website van YouPic. Deze Award krijgt een fotograaf wanneer zijn/haar foto’s 10000 Favorites (zie het als likes op Facebook) hebben gekregen.
Het is onduidelijk welke volgende prijs te behalen is met favorites.

De Award zegt niet zo veel over de kwaliteit van de foto’s, maar meer over het sociale netwerk welke Studio Tjeerd heeft opgebouwd op YouPic.
In dat opzicht heeft het uitroepen van een foto tot Inspiration meer impact, omdat zo’n foto door de curators van YouPic persoonlijk worden uitgekozen en in de etalage wordt gezet.

Geen prijs “LensCulture Portrait Awards 2015”

Net een berichtje in de mailbox ontvangen dat de foto’s die door Studio Tjeerd waren ingestuurd niet in de prijzen zijn gevallen.
Het dient gezegd te worden dat de e-mail van LensCulture heel erg netjes is:

Hi Tjeerd –

Thank you for entering the LensCulture Portrait Awards 2015 competition. This year we received a record number of entries from photographers in over 129 countries. This presented a real challenge for our panel of judges to narrow down the entries to just six top winners, 25 finalists and 7 Juror’s Picks — but in the end, they came to a final decision. I’m sorry to say that your submission was not one of the winners or finalists chosen by the jury this year. We will be announcing the winners this week but we wanted to notify you in advance.

We are grateful for your participation in the LensCulture Portrait Awards 2015 — our competitions continue to be the best way for us to discover exciting new work and share it with the world. Please be assured that just because you were not chosen as one of the top winners, it does not mean that we think your photos are not good! Because of the limited number of spots for winners and finalists, a lot of truly excellent submissions were not chosen for the final cut made by the judges. As we mentioned in an earlier email to you, our editors posted over 800 submissions to our Portrait Awards Gallery (http://www.lensculture.com/portrait-awards-2015) to be seen by almost one million visitors to Lensculture.com. We also posted editor-selected submissions to our Facebook page and reached almost four million photography lovers during the competition. The breadth and quality of this year’s submissions was just astounding, we are delighted with the results.

We encourage you to continue being an active member of the LensCulture community, especially since we have a number of exciting new services we’ll be introducing this summer. Thanks again for participating!

Niet in de prijzen bij “Sony World Photography Awards 2015”

Eerder dan werd aangegeven door de organisatie (april 2015), is de uitslag van de fotowedstrijd van Sony World Photography Awards 2015  bekend gemaakt. Ik trof vandaag in de e-mail het volgende berichtje aan:

Dear Tjeerd Doosje,

Thank you for entering the 2015 Sony World Photography Awards.

This year the competition received its highest ever number of entries, over 173,444 from 171 countries, and the Judging Committee was hugely impressed by the high standard of imagery it saw.

Unfortunately your submitted works have not been shortlisted this year.

We thank you for your hard work and commitment to capturing and submitting some amazing images and hope that you will once again enter the Sony World Photography Awards when the 2016 competition opens on 1st June 2015.

The shortlist for the Professional, Open and Youth categories can be seen here.

The winning and shortlisted images will be shown as part of the Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition at Somerset House, London from 24 April – 10 May. More details about the exhibition can be seen www.worldphoto.org/2015exhibition

Studio Tjeerd krijgt “The Finest Quality” Award op YouPic

Vandaag heeft Studio Tjeerd opnieuw een Award gekregen op de website van YouPic. In dit geval “The Finest Quality” Award doordat Studio Tjeerd nu  10 foto’s heeft die  de status Inspiration hebben bereikt. Op zich een leuke bijkomstigheid en ook wel aardig om te vermelden, maar geen bijzondere prijs.

De volgende prijs die te behalen is met Inspirations komt bij 50 foto’s. Dat zal nog wel even op zich laten wachten.

Studio Tjeerd “Viral Photographer” op YouPic

Vandaag heeft Studio Tjeerd opnieuw een Award gekregen op de website van YouPic. In dit geval “Viral Photographer” doordat Studio Tjeerd nu  500 foto’s heeft die zijn gedeeld (repics). Op zich een leuke bijkomstigheid en ook wel aardig om te vermelden, maar geen bijzondere prijs.

De volgende prijs die te behalen is met repics komt bij 5000 gedeelde foto’s. Dat zal nog wel even op zich laten wachten.
