Via de e-mail ontving ik een persoonlijke uitnodiging van “The Circle Foundation for the Arts” (een magazine over hedendaagse kunst) voor publicatie in hun Spotlight Magazine.
Circle Foundation for the Arts (CFA) is een oude bekende van Studio Tjeerd.
Sterker nog: Studio Tjeerd was één van de eerste kunstenaars die gepubliceerd is in het opstartende blad, enkele jaren geleden, om precies te zijn in de herfst van 2017.
Het is leuk om te zien dat deze editie nog steeds op de website staat van het tijdschrift en ook mijn naam daar nog is terug te vinden.
Deze publicatie leidde er toe dat ik een zogenaamde CFA Affiliate Artist waarvoor de editors van het blad mijn oeuvre van toen hadden doorgespit en een selectie hadden gemaakt van foto’s die zij wilden publiceren en in de e-mail daarover schreven: “We are very excited to have you on board ;)”.
In de officiële mail van het tijdschrift waarmee de bevestiging kwam dat ik me een jaar lang CFA Affiliate Artist kon noemen, stond nog een mooi dankjewel: “Thank you again giving CFA the privilege to represent your art.” en kon ik enkele dagen later een mooi certificaat ontvangen:
met daarop de tekst:
“For presenting artwork which displays originality, technical skill, a dedication to the artist’s practice and an accomplised or established career.”
Hierna volgende nog een publicatie als featured artist in december 2017 in Circle Spotlight Issue 4 (helaas niet meer online te bekijken, want het nummer is uitverkocht).
Een foto van Roos werd vervolgens gebruikt in de promovideo.

Tot twee keer toe (in december 2017 en in februari 2018 heeft een foto een honorable mention gekregen.
Men is me blijkbaar nog niet vergeten gezien het feit dat ik nu een persoonlijke uitnodiging heb gekregen om mijn werk te publiceren in Spotlight Magazine.

Release date: September/October 2023.
Each page in the magazine includes 1 large image of work, details about the work and a short artist statement. The magazine has a well-researched, image-centric design which provides an elegant frame for the artwork. Published artists will have the chance to add the entire pdf on their personal website or share it via email. The print magazine is available for direct order.

We publish 1 image per page but we ask you to submit a few more works so that we have enough material to work with on your presentation.

Ik weet niet zo goed welke foto er met “Julia Portrait” wordt bedoeld, maar waarschijnlijk gaat het om Julia (0202).
Ik zal dat nog even moeten navragen, maar op dit moment ben ik nog simpelweg te druk met de publicatie in La Modèle Magazine, dingen regelen rondom de expositie in de Parijse galerie Espace Vision’Art, de nominatie voor de PIAB-awards 2023 en de expositie van een foto van Merlin op Times Square.
Ik vind het in ieder geval een eer dat ik gevraagd ben voor publicatie in dit tijdschrift en dat ik na al die jaren een persoonlijke uitnodiging heb ontvangen!
