Een van de eisen om gepubliceerd te kunnen worden in het online tijdschrift, is dat er een zogenaamde Artist Statement/Bio moet worden geschreven.
Zoiets vind ik lastig, want wat schrijf je daar nu precies in? Waar zitten bezoekers van de website van Contemporary Art Curator Magazine op te wachten?
In ieder geval wil men iets weten over de achtergrond. Daarnaast voelde ik me vrij om de successen tot nu toe ook maar op het virtuele papier te zetten. Of dat ook wordt geaccepteerd is van later zorg.
Met de nodige moeite en energie – want ik kan nogal lang van stof zijn – heb ik de curator het volgende toegestuurd:
Artist statement/Bio
Tjeerd Doosje is born on april 8th 1966, Harderwijk, the Netherlands and is a selftaught portraitphotographer and retoucher.
After he graduated from highschool he studied mathematics and chemistry at the Hogeschool Utrecht to become a teacher.
He’s still a mathteacher at a highschool in Almere and around 2010, he discovered portrait photography. On his highschool there was this make-up artist course and he did some mini photoshoots with the pupils. He liked this so much that he wanted to start his own photostudio in 2016.
His photos are digitally exhibited in the Louvre, Paris, 2015 and Murcia, Spain (2014).
One of his photos was finalist in the Celeste Contemporary Art Prize 2016 and was therefore exhibited in the O.X.O. Tower Wharf, London.
His photos are or will be published in several art books:
